Things Men Don't Want You to Know!!!

Hello LADIES!!! It's me your favorite Gear head-ettes (in training) Roxie here!!! I was riding with my favorite gear head... none other than Geoff Morris HIMSELF... and while in his car I decided to take a look around. While in the trunk I noticed a bag... So I asked "Hey Geoff... What's in the bag???"

Today Ladies I reveal what I learned STRAIGHT from Geoff Morris. Everyone should have a bag in their ride... After looking in the bag, I now know why! The bag had all thing car safety (and more) related inside... I'm talkin flashlight, tire gauge, jumper cables, cleaning supplies (OH YEAH) and some gloves!!!

OK Roxie what's your point???

My point is this... All these things are necessities for your ride. Whether you need a jump or there is some dirt on your brand new wash job... BE PREPARED!!! I would hate to see you stranded because you left the house without your trusty BAG... it might just be best if you leave it in you trunk (just like Geoff) in case of emergency.

LADIES: Don't forget to leave a coat in your ride in the winter... There is nothing like being stranded and COLD!!! BURR!!!

Keep Rollin... ROXIE =)

Roxie does.... DYNO!!!!

Hi Ladies!!! Roxie here... Boy what a weekend!!! I had the pleasure of attending a Car Show ((YAY!)) this weekend and I got to see a DYNO!!! UMMM Roxie what's a DYNO??? Glad you asked ...

A Dyno is a (let me make this simple) a machine that measures how fast a car goes. I know this sounds a little boring but you have to see a car being DYNO-ed!!! So the car is placed on the dyno and strapped down. Once all the safety measures are taken ... the engine is checked out and predictions are made. Then the fun begins!!!The driver is usually given three pulls (three chances) to make there baby get to the business. After those three pulls you find out about how much horse power, torque and power you baby is kickin out!

I know this doesn't sound super fun ... but trust me seeing (and hearing) a car Dyno-ed in person it SUPER EXCITING!!!

Get Dyno-ed...

Let's be CAR SHOW literate!!!!

Good Day Ladies!!! Roxie here again! Today is the day that we become car show literate! That's right... how many times have you been to a car show and had NO clue what you were looking at??? Well I can confess that I have had those days but TODAY we are changing that!!! There are so many different types of car out there so strap on your thinking cap because I am taking you to school!!!

First we have the TUNER CAR!!! Well, Roxie what's a Tuner Car??? Glad you asked my friend. A Tuner is usually an imported car, often Japanese made. The have powerful 4 cylinder motors. They are mostly know for there SPEED and HANDLING. Most times the tuner is customized to fit the owners style!

Moving on... Next we have the HOT ROD CAR!!! These car usually look like throwbacks to the 1930s to the late 1940s. The are domestic (USA made) customized car, chiefly made for speed. These cars usually have LARGE tires and FLAMES!!!

MUSCLE CARS!!! OK so... muscle cars are US made cars the where produced on the 1960s to the mid 1970s. These cars are mostly V8, rear wheel drive, and have HIGH HORSEPOWER ((oh YEAH!!!)). Most muscle cars have very competitive names.

OK... Finally we have the CLASSIC CAR! Classic cars are the popular Sedans of yester-year. They are usually restored to the original state unlike some of the other show cars. These cars can be both Domestic and Foreign made.

Okay so hopefully I haven't overloaded you... But there are many more show car types. Yeah I know ... WOW ...lol but this will get you in the game for now. You have passed Roxie's beginners course in Car Show knowledge!!! Good day Gear-headettes!!!

Modern Girls Drive Stick!!!!

Hello Ladies... It your girl Roxie!!! So these day more ladies are hoping behind the wheel and shifting gears too! Personally I drive stick and you could not get me to drive anything else! There are a couple reasons for my switch to stick ... here we go!!

Gas is kicking most people in the butt lately. With gas as high as it is it might be beneficial for all my automatic drivers out there to switch to stick. If you are looking for a gas saver then I recommend you look for a compact 5-speed to improve your gas mileage on your daily commute. BUT ladies REMEMBER.... Don't linger in any one gear ... Getting through your gears keeps the gas in you tank.

They are fun to drive... I know you are say "Really Roxie?" YES REALLY... Even though sometimes driving stick can leave a lot to be desired, most times it can be loads of fun. There is nothing like making your baby kick through those gears... Try it out you just might have fun!

All the HOTTEST cars are Sticks! I know ... I know this might just depend on what you like but all the cars I love are sticks!!! Think about it... How many of you have seen Fast and the Furious... Okay and what do the drive.... 5 SPEEDS ... YEAH!!!!

Men Love it!!! Enough said... lol!!!

So ladies I encourage you to at least try it out. If its not for you then Automatic you shall drive... But as a convert I promise once you drive stick you won't go back =)

Springtime is HERE!!!

Hello Ladies!!! It’s your girl Roxie checking in. Spring is in the air and you know what that means… Flossing Season is here! While we love to see cute guys in clean cars, it’s time for ladies to step it up as well. I know you might be thinking…Step it up how Roxie? Well this year we will be rolling clean and SAFE too! Winter can be extremely hard on your car so, before you head out this spring let get a couple thing checked out.
First let’s check our tire pressure and tread out. Grab a penny and pinch Mr. Lincoln’s body between your thumb and forefinger. Place Lincoln’s head in one of the groves on the tread of your tire. It’s best that you pick the lowest point of the tire for this test. If any part of Lincoln’s head is covered by the tread… Ladies you are “A” okay but, if you can see the “In God We Trust,” it’s time to get some new tires.
Next, we need to get our level checked out. Have your fluid levels checked or check them yourself. When checking you oil, park your car in a level spot. Make sure your car is not running and that the engine has not been running recently. Pull out the engine oil dip stick. If you don’t know where the dipstick is check out your owner’s manual for some assistance. Wipe off the dipstick off with a clean rag or tissue then insert it back into its place. Now pull it out one more time and check out you oil. If the oil is black head out to get the oil changed ASAP. If the oil is dark-brown you car is okay but I foresee a oil change in your immediate future. While getting your oil changed have you coolant, windshield wiper and transmission fluid topped of if needed. Winter is harsh on your brakes so, have them checked out as well. Make sure all blown bulbs on your car are replaced.
Once you have everything under the hood on the up and up… it’s time to get the outside spring ready. This is a good time to get you car COMPLETELY detailed from top to bottom. Check out this web site for “Waterless Car Wash.” It quick and easy and polishes your car as it cleans. Make sure the inside of the car is in tip top shape as well. To seal the deal hit you car with a coat of quick wax and a coat of tire shine on your baby’s wheels. It’s official!! You car is “Roxie Approved” for the road this spring!! So get out there in your Roxie Tee from gmpshowcars.com and floss with the big boys!!
